We are the fearless Cardiff Lions, we are part of Lions International Organization. We are serving a world in need.
Lions and Leos make a difference every day, everywhere we serve. And with the support of our international association and our global foundation, we are changing lives, communities and the world we share.
Bringing kind-hearted people together to serve their communities is what Lions clubs are all about. Lions see a problem and then take action to solve it. Lions build relationships with their communities, with one another and with the people they serve. And as a result, everyone’s life is improved.

Lions Clubs throughout the UK collect unwanted and damaged spectacles. These are then sent to Chichester Lions Club which processes tens of thousands of recycled spectacles each year. All donations are examined by a team of Lions and other volunteers in the recycling workshop. Sorted pairs of glasses may then be sent for grading and distribution by Medico France in Le Havre.
Glasses are also sent directly to contacts running eye clinics in Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Nigeria, and Nepal. In addition, volunteers from the ‘Unite for Sight’ charity are supplied with spectacles to take with them on missions to countries across the world. If you want to collect spectacles for Lions and need a box for this purpose, please contact us!

We have a long history of serving the blind and visually impaired, and remain committed to continuing this mission into our next century of service.
Our Strategic Objective is to prevent
avoidable blindness and improve quality of life for people who are blind and visually impaired.
We serve to improve human flourishing. We see how the global hunger and nutrition crisis bears upon our local communities, and believe true community improvement depends on the thriving of its members.
